Q: What tools do you use to inject games from older systems for the Wii Virtual Console?
A: I use the following tools:


  • AutoInjectuWAD - developed by Creffca (AKA Avicr)
  • CustomizeMii - developed by Leathl
  • ShowMiiWads - developed by Leathl
  • VCInjector - developed by Devilken (with special thanks to Corsario)
  • WAD unpacker - developed by BFGR
  • WAD packer - developed by KiKe (based on segher tools)
  • TG16inject Tool - developed by SquidMan & 0RANGECHiCKEN
  • U8 Tool / VC brlyt Editor / VC Save Icon Maker / VC Save Icon and Save Title Injector / CCF Tool / TPL Editor FE - developed by HowardC

This list is not complete because there are so maaaany tools for help me to do easily my new Wii VC iNJECTS.

Q: Are the injected WADs compatible with Wii U?
A: Yes. The injected WADs are compatible with the original Wii, Wii U virtual menu (vWii), and you can also use them in the Dolphin Emulator (GameCube and Wii emulator).

Q: How do I install the injected WADs?
A: You can install them with the following procedures depending on the system:

[Wii]

Make sure you have installed the Homebrew and BootMii or Priiloader channel before installing them.

  1. Use one of the following homebrew applications: Wii Mod Lite (developed by RiiConnect24 bashed on jskyboo's WiiMod), WAD Manager (developed by Waninkoko) or Pimp my Wii (developed by Attila and distributed by http://www.wii-info.fr). Put your homebrew application in: sdcard: / apps
  2. Put your WAD to install on your SD card at: sdcard: / or on sdcard: / wad
  3. Turn off your Wii, put your SD card in the Wii and then turn it on.
  4. Once switched on, start the Homebrew channel and start the application to start installing the WAD.
  5. Perform the installation of the WAD following the following steps:
  6. In Wii Mod Lite, select the WAD Manager option and then choose Wii SD Slot. Then select the WAD to install and press A twice. Once installed, you can see your game already installed in the Wii menu.
  7. In WAD Manager, select A to accept and continue and then choose the IOS to use. (IOS249 is recommended). Then choose the Wii SD Slot option and press A. Then select the WAD to install and press A. Choose the Install WAD option and confirm with A. Once installed, you can see your game already installed in the Wii menu.
  8. In Pimp my Wii, select the Wad option, confirm with A and then choose the IOS to use. (IOS249 is recommended). Then choose the Wii SD Slot option and press A. Then select the WAD to install and press A. Choose the Install WAD option and confirm with A. Once installed, you can see your game already installed in the Wii menu.
  9. Ready! Enjoy the game!

[Wii U - vWii Mode]

Make sure you have installed the Homebrew and BootMii or Priiloader channel before installing them.

  1. Use only the homebrew application: Wii Mod Lite (developed by RiiConnect24), which is compatible with Wii and Wii U vWii mode. Put your homebrew application on: sdcard / apps
  2. Put your WAD to install on your SD card at: sdcard: / or on sdcard: / wad
  3. Turn off your Wii, put your SD card in the Wii and then turn it on.
  4. Once switched on, start the Homebrew channel and start the application to start installing the WAD.
  5. Perform the installation of the WAD following the following steps:
  6. In Wii Mod Lite, select the WAD Manager option and then choose Wii SD Slot. Then select the WAD to install and press A twice. Once installed, you can see your game already installed in the Wii menu.
  7. Ready! Enjoy the game!

[Dolphin Emulator]

NOTE: Make sure you have installed the Wii menu in the Dolphin emulator.


  1. Put your WAD in a folder: Example: in C:/WADS/
  2. Open the Dolphin emulator.
  3. Select Tools > Install WAD.
  4. Find and select the WAD to install and then click OK.
  5. If the question "Nintendo has not signed this WAD file. Do you want to continue?" Appears, select "Yes" or "OK".
  6. Once installed, run the Wii menu in Tools > Load Wii System Menu [version] and watch your game already installed.
  7. Ready! Enjoy the game!
Q: What IOS do I need for play saulfabreg's Wii VC iNJECTS?
A: The following IOS must be installed on your Wii in order for play correctly my Wii Virtual Console WADs, depending of each game system:
  • Nintendo Entertainment System WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33, 
  • Super Nintendo Entertainment System WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33, 
  • Nintendo 64 WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33, IOS56.
  • SNK NeoGeo MVS / AES WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33, IOS56.
  • SEGA Master System WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33.
  • SEGA Genesis / SEGA Mega Drive (1 & 2) WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33.
  • TurboGrafx-16 / PC Engine / PCE SuperGrafx [HuCard] WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33.
  • TurboGrafx-16 CD / TurboGrafx-CD / PC Engine CD-ROM² / PC Engine Super CD-ROM² / TurboDuo / PC Engine DUO [CD] WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33. IOS53.
  • Microsoft MSX1 / Microsoft MSX2 WADs: IOS9, IOS21, IOS33.

    So its necessary to install all these IOS for injected wads to work right? Is it ok to install all of these at once. And how do you install these? Can these make the wii unstable? Thanks for help.

  2. If we get a black screen with a exception does that mean we dont have all the right IOS installed? Im new can you explain? Thanks
